REVIEW: SHREK THE THIRD
DVD
11/16/07

Shrek is back and so are the laughs.
You can expect all the charm and comedy that this lovable
Ogre offered up in the first two films. All the favorite
regular characters are back, along with some fresh new ones
that are sure to delight and with the star studded voice
over cast that now includes Justin Timberlake, and The
Office’s John Krasinski, it’s a film that will delight the
entire family.
The third installment of this charming Ogre’s fairytale
takes place in the land of Far Far Away where Shrek is faced
with becoming its new king when his father in law passes
away. Not feeling up to the responsibility he sets out on a
quest to locate the only other living heir. Unfortunately
the heir turns out to be an awkward insecure teenager as
reluctant for responsibility as Shrek. This time around
Fiona is expecting as well, and Shrek must come to terms
with becoming a father, teaching a teenager to become a King
all while fighting off Prince Charming and all the villains
who wish to take over Far Far away.
This is the perfect movie for the entire family and in
HD-DVD it look astonishing. This is by far the best HD-DVD
release to date. Besides looking great Shrek will have you
laughing out loud, with the charm and energy this film
brings, it’s worth every penny you pay for it.
Unfortunately, the only downside to this animated film is
that all the jokes are the same as in the prior ones, you
can expect all the fart humor and crude behavior on the
Ogres part. I’ts not very original, but it does have some
new dynamics that add to its charm and make it a fun movie
to watch. Overall I found the film familiar, with enough
originality to make it worth watching. Its 92 minutes of
family fun, so I definitely recommend it for family night.
Your kids will be giggling about it for days and you won’t
mind having to watch it more than once for their amusement.
Shrek has done it again.
