Samantha Who?
Season one
09/22/08

SYNOPSIS: After
emerging from an eight-day coma, Samantha Newly can’t
remember a thing, her boyfriend, her parents, her job—not
even herself. Although some things are best left forgotten,
Sam is determined to dig up the “goods” on herself. With a
little help from her ex-boyfriend, ex-doorman, her too few
(make that two) friends and slightly odd parents, Samantha
gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to become a
bad-girl-gone-good.
SEASON REVIEW:
The 2007/2008 Fall Season had to be one of the best season
for the ABC Television Network. Five new show from the Fall
line up brought good ratings for ABC in this short TV
season. "Pushing Daisies", "Eli Stone ", "Private
Practice" , "Dirty Sexy Money" and finally "Samantha
Who?" the highest rated new sitcom for the network in
the 2007/2008 TV
season. "Samantha Who?" marked the return of Christina Applegate
to a primetime television in this outstanding comedy. Buena
Vista Home Entertainment will be releasing the "Samantha
Who" first season on DVD this September 23, 2008.
The show is well writing
providing enough entertainment, laughs and intrigue in every
single episode. From the first episode viewers will embark
in the misadventure of this bad girl going good, as she is
trying to get her memory back. Samantha Who? is
magically performed by Christina Applegate. What I really
like about the show is the mystery that the writers present
throughout this comedy. The audience get to discover who
Samantha is, as she is discovering herself. From who her
boss is to what her favorite ice cream is, viewers get the
opportunity to developed a
special relationship with Samantha's character. In each of
the following episodes, we get to know how bad was the old
Samantha, providing funny and outrages situations that
will make you want to see more and more of this original show.
Like it happens with any good new television
show and specially a sitcom, the cast is as good as the show is and
Samantha Who? is
not the exception. This is a show that was destine to
be performed by Christina Applegate, it is very hard
to imagine another person playing this role. The
rest of the supporting cast Jean Smart, Jennifer Esposito
and Kevin Dunn add their own spice, to make this show the best
sitcom of the 2007/2008 Fall TV season.
Samantha Who? The Complete First
Season includes all 17 episodes, all in widescreen (1.78:1)
with a English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and
French language track . As for bonus
features is concern, there are very slim in this release
only a "Blopper Reel" , "Deleted Scenes" and Audio
Commentary. Looks like fro some reason the expectations for
this good sitcom were not very good. Let's wait and see, if
in the DVD of the second season we get to see at least a
good behind the scenes.
